Volos-Tour to Meteora Monasteries with lunch

This excursion begins with a short panoramic drive of Volos town before beginning a scenic ride through the fertile plains of the Thessaly region of central Greece. (drive of approx. 2 hours). Before arriving in Kalambaka, built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks that point to the Pinos River flowing from the Pindus range. Your journey continues with a drive through the fantastic landscape of giant pillars reaching up to 650m.above sea level and stop at the Agios Stephanos Monastery. Enjoy an unforgettable view as you walk to the entrance. The monastery, originally built in the 14-15^th Century, was entrusted to the nuns in 1961 and has now been made easily accessible by a permanent bridge. After touring the site, your excursion continues to the Varlam Monastery, built in the beginning of the 16^th Century. A panoramic drive around Meteora’s formidable pinnacles and Kalambaka town will be followed. You will then have a relaxing lunch and once you have finished, you will go back to your coach and drive to the port of Volos.
