After a short panoramic drive from the port into the city centre, your excursion begins with a visit at the small but interesting museum of Volos, established in 1909. Here you will view the findings of the excavations in the Magnesia region, including the exclusive funerary steles-considered to be masterpieces of the Hellenistic art of the 3rd Century B.C. You will admire also exhibits such as Neolithic graves and grave objects and findings from the prehistoric sites of Dimini and Sesklo. Next, visit Mt. Pelion where stops will be made in Portaria (short stop for photos) and Makrynitsa. These characteristics villages offer a view of the Greek lifestyle and unique local architecture. Next we drive back to the port and return to the ship.
