Enjoy a scenic drive along the River Brenta to one of Italy's most important art cities, Padua.
On the way to Padua, you will pass by several beautiful villas before proceeding through the town of Mira and Dolo, a well known shoe manufanturing center.
Padua is better known as the city of St. Anthony. The art panorama is dominated by the figure of Giotto, who left in Padua some of his masterpieces.
Your guided walking tour will take you through the town center to allow you to see a selection of beautiful piazza's where a busy, fresh product's market operates daily and one that incorporates the Torre dell' Orologio (Clock Tower) with its astronomical clock dating back to year 1344. Also visit St. Anthony's Church, the huge basilica decorated with Byzantine domes and minaret towers. The church holds the tomb of St. Anthony and is the object of pilgrimares from all over the world. In the square in front of the church, one can admire Donatello's 15th century bronze statue of mercenary Gattamelata, a masterpiece that greatly influenced sculpture during the Italian Renaissance era.
