If you like Pompeii for sure you will like Ostia Antica which is reminiscent of Pompeii, but on a smaller scale and in a prettier, park-like setting. The Latin name `Ostium’ means `mouth of the river’, being situated at the mouth of the Tiber river. Amongst the cypress and pine trees, the ruins of the port of ancient Rome reveal more than any other monument in the capital that is everyday life in ancient times. During your walk through the ruins, your guide will gradually instruct you about the cultural and social life of this interesting commercial settlement.
