Corinth – Athens City Tour – Plaka
After approx. 1 and a half hour drive from Corinth port, you will reach the City of Athens. Your Athens tour will begin with a city orientation to view the most interesting sites of the town, the Hadrian Arch once separating the old and new sections of Athens, the statue of Lord Byron, the Corinthian Temple of Olympian Zeus, and as short stop at the Old Marble Pan-Athenian Olympic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic games held in 1895. The panoramic tour will continue with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and many other sites including the Academy, National Gardens, and Constitution Square, the neoclassic buildings of the Academy of Athens, the National Library, and Omonia Square.
You will then drive to the Acropolis, walk on the pedestrian street of Dinissiou Aeropagiti below the Acropolis and gather in front of the Dionysos Theatre, from where we can view the Parthenon, and the guide will give you details of the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Continue to Dionysos-Zonars café/restaurant, to enjoy a coffee and/or refreshment. Your guide will give you directions to find your way to the Plaka area, for your free time to enjoy a stroll in the picturesque Plaka, before returning to your bus for your drive back to Corinth port.
Remarks: The Acropolis will only be viewed from the distance. The Plaka area will be explored on foot.
