Alexandria - Highlights of Alexandria Tour
The tour departs from Alexandria port to the city of Alexandria. The first stop is at the national Museum where numerous artefacts of the Egyptian culture are exhibited. You will be guided at the museum and have the opportunity to see the recoveries from the Sunken Palace of Cleopatra. Your sightseeing goes on to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, where you will visit the famous library and the archaeological museums. The New Alexandrian Library is located at the same spot as the Ancient library built by Ptolemy in 288 BC and it is dedicated to the study of works of ancient literature and science.
After the visit to the Library, the group will be driven to the Mosque of Abu El Abbas which is Alexandria's largest mosque and one of the most important Islamic monuments, built during 1775 by the Algerians . The group will have free time to photograph the mosque and the surroundings. The tour continues to the Qait Bay Fort, a defensive fortress built on the original place of Alexandria’s Old lighthouse, one of the seven miracles of the ancient world.
Your day will go on for more sightseeing but first you will stop for a meal at the restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel. Enjoy your meal and relax while viewing the Mediterranean Sea from the hotel’s terrace.
After meal, you will be driven back to Alexandria port through the region of Korniche, the second largest city of Egypt , full of VIP houses built across the sea shore. Return to ship.
