Tour to Terriade’s museum , Agiasos Village & Ouzo distillery

A gentle ridge of mountains densely carpeted with lush pine and olive trees forms the background of Mitlini town, capital of Lesvos Island. Leave the capital of the island and after 20’ approximately of drive arrive to Terriade’s museum.  Here you will see the exhibition of Terriade's 29 "Great Books." Among the exhibits are five books illustrated by Chagall. ." In the Museum are also exhibited works by: Baudin, Bornard, Bores, Giacometti, Grimaire, Laurence, Le Corbusier, Leger, Matisse, Miro, Picasso, as well as by: Giorgos Vakirtzis, Theophilos Hadjimichail, Manolis Kalliyiannis, Orestis Kanellis, Callirhoe Marouda, Giorgos Rorris, Yiannis Tsarouchis. A nice small shop is situated in the museum with many interesting items for sale for the art lovers.  

Re-embark your coach and enjoy a pleasant drive to Agiasos-one of the most picturesque villages on Lesvos, clinging to the slopes of Mt Olympos. Tile-covered houses with wooden balconies laden with flowers are crowded into narrow lanes. The Church of Panagia (the Virgin Mary), with its majestic bell tower, was built in 1170 as a triple-aisled basilica, and took its present day form in 1815. The building complex around the church houses a Byzantine museum where you can admire the notable displays. You will have some free time to either visit the museum on your own , browse through the charming streets of the village and taste the traditionally prepared Greek Coffee, before rembarking the bus, with direction this time one of the Ouzo distilleries of the Island .

You can’t visit Lesvos’ island, the most important producer place of OUZO in Greece without visiting one of its Ouzo distilleries. Enjoy a tour in the old factory where the specialist of the establishment (or your guide) will explain you in every detail the procedure of making the favourite drink of Greeks, ouzo! During your visit you will have the opportunity to taste ouzo & buy a bottle or two ,if you wish, as a souvenir of this particular experience, before returning back to the Capital town, Mytilini and your ship
