Tour to Fascinating Trani

There are a few cities facing the sea which own the charm that Trani can boast: what makes this small city unique and fascinating is the perfect harmony between natural beauties and its famous architectural treasures. In a few square kilometres, in fact, we can admire some of the most beautiful sceneries of the whole region of Apulia, as well as artistic gems of a high historical importance. Our visit of Trani starts from the port and then we continue through the beautiful old city centre. We reach the Cathedral, which is one of the most beautiful of the whole region of Apulia and is situated in an impressive position right in front of the sea. The Cathedral, which is nowadays called “the queen of Apulia’s cathedrals”, was built in Apulian Romanesque style at the end of the 10^th century with the beautiful stone of Trani and was dedicated to St. Nicola Pellegrino. Right beside the cathedral we can admire the impressive Norman castle, built in the 12^th century during the reign of Frederick II: in that period the city of Trani reached its top and became one of the most important ports of the Adriatic sea. At the end of the walking tour free time to relax enjoying a real Italian “Espresso” in the charming area of the port.
