Nafplion, tour to Epidaurus

Disembark and depart from the port for a short drive to Akronafplia Hill. Spend some minutes to admire the panoramic view, part of the old town, the gulf of Argolis and take photos if you wish. From there, continue to Epidaurus. Leave the motor coach and walk through beautiful olive groves, following your guide to the world famous Theatre, one of the best preserved monuments of the antiquity in the world. According to Pavsanias, the ancient Greek traveller and writer, the Theatre was built in the 4^th century BC by the Argic architect and sculptor Policleitos. The Theatre with its outstanding acoustics accommodates 14.000 spectators and comes to life every summer with the Festival of Epidaurus, performing ancient comedies and tragedies. See the surrounding ruins, and then visit the local archaeological museum, where you will have the opportunity to admire unique pieces of art, some found in the Asclepeion of Epidaurus, an important structure, dedicated to the ancient god of medicine, Asclepeios. Afterwards, return to your motor coach to drive back to the port.
