Ithaca tour
Explore the wonderful Ithaca, the island symbol of adventure and longing for homeland but also the symbol of the path to education and self-knowledge.
Your journey begins as you depart the port of Ithaca and you take an interesting drive to Forkinos bay, where according to mythology Homer’s hero, Odysseus, had disembarked. You will then proceed to the excavations in Saint-George. Travel back in time and rekindle the ancient periods.
Continue your tour by taking a drive to Stavros village, the village which attracts mainly the interest of archaeologists. Stavros village is one of the largest villages in the north of Ithaca. Here the group will have the opportunity to marvel Odysseus Statue and the archaeological museum as well. Afterwards, you depart for Homer’s school and excavations and visit its wonderful history.
Finally visit the traditional village of Kioni. Kioni is the most scenic offshore village of Ithaca and has been characterized as a preservable settlement. It was built in the 16th century by the residents of the surrounding mountainous regions that had the need of access of the sea. Here you can see the three windmills in the entry of the harbour.
End your journey with a drive back to the ship.
